What are some of Cid Inc's career highlights?

Hi Henri! How are you doing today?
I’m good! In Sweden at the moment  for a few days visiting  my parents and celebrating my grand mom’s 80th  birthday!

Can you give us some background on yourself, such as where you currently reside and how you got into electronic dance music?
Born in Finland, family moved to Sweden when I was one year old . In 2004 after my sound engineering  studies  I  moved to Finland again, to a small city called Oulu where I’m  based now . Me  and my missus are  about to move to Helsinki pretty soon though.

Can you share with us some highlights in your music career?
The first one is definitely the first  12” release back in ’04 under Mashtronic . Mashronic EP#1 was quite a success! And then there’s of course the time when we got  asked to remix John Digweeds “Warung Beach” track and also our Eps on  Bedrock. Also releasing the first  ep on my own label “Replug” was quite  exciting.

What projects are you currently working on?
I’m working on a few exciting collaborations, still kind of secret  stuff so can’t talk more about them. Also working on new solo stuff of course and a few remixes in the pipe.
Working quite  alot with my replug label as well as running the mastering service that  takes a lot of time.

What projects do you have coming up?
I have my “Spacegulls” track coming out on Afterglow this spring/summer. Also another original “Craving” due out in June. It was specially made for the “Best Of B018” mix compilation mixed by Gunther & Stamina (the residents of the excellent B018 club in Lebanon)  And then of course “Magnify” on you’re label =) On the remix front there’s coming out remixes during the coming months for  Astronivo’s “King Lighter” on Tribal Vision,  Triangle’s (Another project from Fiord fellas) “Four” on Flow and Dale Anderson’s “Bug” on Whoshaus  to name a few.

Where do you find inspiration for your music?
Every day life.

What is your studio set up like and what is your favorite VST Plug-in or tool to use to use when developing a track?
My setup for music production is pretty simple now days, a PC running Ableton Live, monitors + sub and bunch of plugins.  My most used VSTi s at the moment are definitely NI FM8, Rob Papen blue (love FM synthesis!)  and Sylenth1.

What do you like to do in your spare time?
Music ;) I basicly live and breathe music.. But of course there’s sometimes the need to take some time off from all that  and take my mind  away from all the “noise “. Usuallly read a good book, watch a movie, cook or just relax with my gf and dog.

If you could take only 3 things with you to desert island, what would they be and why?
Computer, speakers, girl friend and our dog. That’s actually four things, but would go crazy without all them!

Finally, tell us about your track(s) on AlterImage Recordings.
Magnify” is a quite simple track but with a nice hypnotic  feel to it and a groove that keeps the feet moving.
